"New" LMS Parent School Opening Information
Thursday, September 10, 2020
Excitement is building here at LMS as we prepare for the opening day of school! Here are a few items that will help with a successful start to the school year.
The first day of school for ALL Student Cohorts (A,B,C & D) is Monday, September 14th. All students in Cohorts A and Cwill attend school in person on Monday, while all students in Cohorts B and D are expected to log in to their Chromebooks from home at their designated class times and go to classroom.google.com to connect with their teachers. A bell schedule and a class schedule was mailed home last week.
Students are strongly encouraged to bring personal water bottles (no glass) everyday. There are two filling stations available for student use in the cafeteria and outside the gym.
All students will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms as they enter the building. There are two student entrance doors at the Library entrance and two student entrance doors at the main entrance. Bussers will use the main entrances and walkers/students dropped off will use the Library entrances.
When dropping students off, use the parent drop off loop to the right upon entry to the campus. Parents may start dropping off students at 7:50AM.
Have your student put the backpack/bookbag on the floor in front of them or on the seat next to them. Students who have to retrieve a bookbag from the trunk will slow down traffic.
Have the student sit on the passenger side of the vehicle so they do not have to cross in front of other cars.
Students are required to wear a face mask that covers the nose and mouth (bandanas and gaiters are not approved masks). Students will be provided with a mask break every block. The main office will supply extra masks in the event a student forgets his/her mask.
Thank you for your continued support as we implement these new COVID related procedures. Our goal is to ensure the safety of all students at LMS. Stay safe and have a great year!
